About LIVE-ADDIS
What is LIVE-ADDIS?
LIVE-ADDIS (Livelihood Improvement for Vulnerable Ethiopians - Addis Ababa) is a non-profit organization that works with unemployed and vulnerable young people in Addis Ababa through vocational training, entrepreneurship training and health awareness. Its motto is "Bridging Gaps, Creating Opportunities".
What is the APHEET program?
APHEET (Alliance for Population, Health and Environment in Ethiopia) is an alliance program that combines Population, Health and Environment (PHE) approaches with social and economic empowerment in Guassa, Adaba and Addis Ababa. LIVE-ADDIS runs the Addis Ababa project and serves as the alliance's secretary and budget-holder. The program is funded by the Merck Family Foundation through Karl Kübel Stiftung (KKS), Germany.
Who are your target beneficiaries?
Unemployed and vulnerable young people in Addis Ababa. The current project works in Yeka Sub-City Woreda 09 and Lemi Kura Sub-City Woreda 10.
Where are you based?
LIVE-ADDIS is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Programs & Training
What types of vocational training do you offer?
Market-driven vocational training at Selam Technical and Vocational College, part of Selam Children's Village. At a pre-service orientation, the college's departments explain each field's market prospects and the options for wage employment or self-employment, so trainees can choose the field that suits them.
How long does the current project run?
The current project is a four-year initiative that began in January 2025. Message us on Facebook to ask about a specific course.
What is SRH awareness training?
Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) awareness is part of the current project, alongside skills development and entrepreneurship training.

How can I become a trainee?
Trainees for the current project come from its target woredas in Yeka and Lemi Kura sub-cities. Message LIVE-ADDIS on Facebook to ask about future intakes.
